Bioactive Compound Discovery

Knowing the compounds responsible for therapeutic properties in botanicals is essential for ensuring the safety and potency of products. The traditional approach of bioactivity guided fractionation faces time constraints and favors abundant (and not always active) compounds. Thus, I use multivariate statistics to predict the compounds responsible for basil's cytotoxic and antimicrobial properties, as well as predict if new samples will contain medical compounds.
